Every place of business has one.

You know – the printer that jams, or streaks, or has operating issues that cause it to randomly drop off the network.

At JBM Office Systems Ltd., we know a thing or two about faulty equipment, especially printer-copiers. Some models can be wrong for a workplace for all sorts of reasons.

Maybe it’s because the unit itself is older, and has been in use for a while. Maybe it’s getting overused. Perhaps its power cord is loose, or its toner drive faulty, or the drum is scratched. Maybe it’s not a mechanical problem, but something wrong with its firmware functions.

For whatever reason, when a printer is unreliable in this manner, it puts extra pressure on the rest of the office printers, which have to pick up the slack.

Recently, however, we have been fortunate enough to have our partner, Toshiba Canada, introduce a game-changing product in the new Eco-Hybrid MFP, the e-Studio 3508LP. It’s the newest in Toshiba’s Eco-MFP line, and it’s a world premiere.

When it comes to printer-copiers, we think THIS is the ideal piece of office equipment for any business.

The Eco-Hybrid MFP is no slouch in the office support department. It offers identical features to the previous version, the e-Studio 3508A, along with the enhanced performance of Toshiba’s Eco-MFP, plus the original, separate Erase Unit, all in one unit.

The new system both prints and copies in monochrome, but in the case of proofs or drafts of documents, it also can print or copy in erasable blue toner (called “EBT” by Toshiba).

Here’s the kicker, though: That draft you printed in EBT? The incorporated erase unit uses heat to erase it from the paper on which it is printed … so you can reuse the paper to create your final copy.

We can just hear you now: “Wait … what?”

That’s what we said, too!

Our JBM Office Systems experts tested the machine and could only believe it after seeing it happen. Our draft document in EBT came out of the erase unit perfectly clear and ready to be reused.

And some more good news? A piece of paper printed in EBT can be reused five times. Up to 400 pieces of paper can be erased at one time. Can you see your company’s carbon footprint shrinking?

In addition to this unbelievable function allowing companies to save oodles on paper costs, the Eco-Hybrid MFP offers standard scanning in black and white or colour, with optional fax connection and finishing functions, like collating, saddle stitching, stapling, binding, etc.

It’s a workhorse!

According to Toshiba, the original Eco-MFP model had a separate erase unit, which couldn’t erase all paper sizes. This model, the Eco-Hybrid MFP, can erase all paper sizes, including letter, with no need to purchase a separate erase unit. Toshiba also improved on the original erasable blue toner, making the colour darker and easy to read in the new unit.

Just think: You could print an office memo, or a note to post on the lunchroom bulletin board about an upcoming meeting or webinar … then you could take the note down and drop it into the printer’s drawer to be erased, and used again. Up to five times!

Wondering about connections and other specifications? The Eco-Hybrid MFP offers security in its self-encrypting hard drive, with a user authentication function, user-access control, logging system and PDF encryption.

 

Connect via a standard USB port, an Ethernet 10/100/1000 Base-T network interface, or optional Wireless LAN and Bluetooth. The Eco-Hybrid MFP is also EPEAT Gold, Energy Star and Blue Angel certified, for eco-friendliness.
